Frequently asked questions
How do I use Tempo?
Enter four tempo values in order: eccentric, stretched hold, concentric, and contracted hold. Start the timer and follow the audio cues through each repetition. The final interface may vary before release.
What does 3-1-2-0 mean?
Lower the weight for 3 seconds, pause at the bottom for 1 second, lift for 2 seconds, then immediately begin the next repetition with a 0-second contracted hold.
Can I use zero-second pauses?
Yes. Zero-second hold phases are skipped automatically, so your repetition flows into the next phase.
Can I listen to music while using Tempo?
Tempo is designed to mix audio cues with your music. Actual mixing and interruptions depend on the device, operating system, and other audio apps. Native testing is still in progress.
Will Tempo work when my phone is locked?
Background audio is a core intended feature. Locked-screen and background behaviour are undergoing native testing; universal compatibility is not yet confirmed.
How do I change sound styles?
Open Settings, enable Sound cues, and choose Classic, Digital, or Zen under Sound style. Preview Sound plays a short sample. Stop your session before changing audio settings.
Does Tempo require an internet connection?
No. Tempo is designed to work offline for timing and saved preferences. Downloading or purchasing the app requires the relevant store connection.
Does Tempo require a subscription?
No. Tempo is planned as a US$0.99 one-time purchase, with no subscriptions or advertisements.

Back in your rhythm.
A few things to try if your audio needs a little attention.
No audio cues
In Settings, check that Sound cues is enabled. Check your media volume and selected audio output. If other media is silent too, check the device’s audio settings. Stop and restart the session when safe to do so.
Low volume
Adjust media volume to a comfortable level and check headphone volume controls. Try reducing the music volume if it masks the cues.
Bluetooth headphones
Confirm your headphones are connected and selected as the audio output. Test another audio source, then reconnect if needed. Bluetooth latency can affect cue timing.
Background audio interruptions
Calls, voice assistants, and other apps may interrupt audio. Return to Tempo and check the session before continuing. Background compatibility is still being tested.
Resetting application preferences
No in-app reset procedure has been verified yet. Avoid deleting the app as a troubleshooting step if you want to keep saved tempos. Reset instructions will be added after release-build testing.
